On April 28, the Indiana General Assembly adopted HB 1001, the state's biennial budget bill, which includes an additional $500 million for READI 2.0 over the next two years. These funds will allow Indiana regional partnerships to once again submit applications to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) for funding projects that promote talent attraction and retention and economic growth.

West Central Indiana – The Wabash River Regional Development Authority (RDA) publicly voted on and announced the regional projects that are awarded READI dollars. Twenty-four projects spanning across Clay, Knox, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo Counties received funds totaling $20 million dollars from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC). Each project collectively works to advance the region’s quality of life and talent attraction and retention efforts. The Wabash River RDA has been working closing with the IEDC on funding roll-out since receiving the funds in December 2021.

Tribune-Star - The six county region in the Wabash River Development Authority has been awarded $20 million as part of the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI), which is a $500 million grant program run by the state and funded by federal COVID-19 funds.

West Central Indiana – The Wabash River Regional Development Authority (RDA) submitted its comprehensive READI proposal this week, totaling nearly $300 million in projects for West Central Indiana.

Inside INdiana Business - The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority has launched crowdfunding campaigns for three community projects through its CreatINg Places program. Each campaign is looking to raise $50,000 for projects in Clay City, Indianapolis, and Washington.

WTHI - A popular Terre Haute attraction hopes to expand, and the owners think it could be a tourism boost worthy of support from the county through grant disbursements and other funding.

Inside INdiana Business - Indianapolis-based Radiant Communities Development Corp. on Friday announced plans for a $14 million housing project in Sullivan. The developer said the project will include 40 lease-to-purchase townhomes and single-family homes.

Inside Indiana Business - The city of Sullivan has completed renovation work on its new city hall building. The project was supported with $1.5 million in funding from the Indiana Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative, or READI, for the city’s Central Plaza Corridor.

Tribune-Star - Revenue from a food and beverage tax continues to grow in Vigo County. In January, the county collected $253,125. That is slightly higher when compared to January 2022, when the county collected $249,718, which was then a record amount.
