Inside INdiana Business - The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority has launched crowdfunding campaigns for three community projects through its CreatINg Places program. Each campaign is looking to raise $50,000 for projects in Clay City, Indianapolis, and Washington.
If the campaigns reach their $50,000 goals before their respective deadlines, they will receive a matching grant from the IHCDA. The CreatINg Places program is open to nonprofits and local governments, and eligible projects must have a minimum total development cost of $10,000.
In Clay City, the Wilma & Liston Buell Community Center is looking to raise funds to furnish its facility with banquet and classroom tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment. The center said the project would improve the space for residents and community members.
“This special opportunity will improve our unique and vibrant center for current and future generations of Clay City and surrounding rural communities,” said Dick Buell, son of Wilma and Liston Buell. “Looking ahead, this center and the events it hosts will engage all ages. IHCDA’s involvement provides a pathway to positively impact ‘managing the future.'”
The Clay City campaign is raising funds through May 28.
