Through Terre Haute and Vigo County tourism initiatives, the Sports Complex and East Side Aquatic Center will further our region’s competitive edge in sports while also attracting visitors from across the state for a fun-filled experience. The Multi-Sports Complex and East Side Aquatic Center will develop a well-rounded environment for athletes and families as they visit West Central Indiana. To strategically undertake this project, the Multi-Sport Complex and East Side Aquatic Center has been divided into three phases with the ability to continue expansion in years to come.
- Phase One: Development of the East Side Aquatic Center with new amenities including a bathhouse, updated lap/dive pool, rental cabanas, aqua zip, climbing wall, concessions for the park and pool, leisure pool with zero depth entry, lazy river and body flumes with run outs.
- Phase Two: Creation of a two-story community recreation fieldhouse including sixteen multipurpose courts and turf fields, a kitchen, facility administration, café, lobby, adventure play, indoor play, fitness, an upper lobby and a running/walking track.
- Phase Three: Completion of an outdoor sports complex that would provide six multi-purpose fields, four large and four small diamond sports fields, a community park with playgrounds, a splash park and shelters, eight pickleball and two basketball courts, comfort stations and shade structures.
